We do NOT recommend porting numbers into the system. You still have to pay the monthly cost for a tracking number. Additionally best practice is to have different TRACKING #s for each marketing channel (RVM, SMS, Cold Calls, Direct Mail, Bandit Signs, etc.). So most clients use the number they are “thinking” of porting into the system (Google Voice, Cell Number, Skype Number, Office Number, etc.) as the RECEIVING # for one or more TRACKING #s.
The porting process can take between 2-4 weeks. Do not cancel service with your current carrier until the port has completed and your calls are running through Targeting Local CRM. You will be charged the monthly fee for these numbers as soon as the porting process starts. Once your number is ported to Targeting Local CRM, you will pay standard rates for your phone number, and standard usage rates apply.
